I Am Moving To Japan
Categories: television, japan, awesome, games, youtube
Seriously, I think it is time to start packing my bags. I have tried it here in the US, with all the crappy MTV-era reality shows like America's Got Talent, My Super Sweet 16, and Survivor that have infected our television networks. All these shows ever do is make me angry that the contestants never face any sort of real world retribution for their wildly inappropriate and/or annoying behavior. Japan on the other hand seems to have stuck to the basics. Here is a tongue twister, say it correctly or get hit in the nuts. Like peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches and Snakes On A Plane, you know exactly what you're getting and if you don't like it then that is your problem.
Congratulations Japan! On getting your own category tag on my blog.

Man, that would've totally wiped that smirk off Ken Jennings face if they did that on Jeopardy.

Those TV shows are funny in small doses, but let me tell you that they get really, really old after a while. Personally, I'd take Survivor over Japanese television any day!

Isn't this just a Japanese version of the show "Distraction" aired worldwide? It doesn't have the same set, but it's a near close idea.

This exemplifies so many things that I loved about living in Japan.
That guy in the red needs to suck it up and stop being such a whiny little bitch.

i lived in the states for almost 30 years...
japan for more than 6...
canada for just over 3...
americans are very proud of themselves...
canadians are extremely proud of their modesty...
here we see exactly where the japanese think you should put your pride...
ah the self deprecating, fun loving japanese tv. nothing in the world can compare.
there is also a game show where if you don't conjugate the counting words properly you get bitch-slapped and tossed about by a sumo wrestler. they, of course, wear leather biker outfits and ride a motorcycle-go-round while doing this.

I think when a country is hit with nuclear/atomic weapons it does something to the national psyche.

I'm a Japanese expat living in Europe. Some of the programs are hilarious, but some are sickening, and I don't need them everyday. If you like silly Japanese TV programs, try this.

Imagine if this game was in the US where the men are not uniformly stricken with microscopic genitalia.... That would really hurt I think...

Actually, the show is called DOWNTOWN. The guy blowing the whistle is Hamada and the guy in red is Matsumoto and they host both shows, DOWNTOWN and HEY!HEY!HEY! where Hey!x3 is more of a musical talk show.
The guy in red, Matsumoto, acts like a whiny bitch because that's his character. He's the funny, wimpy, whiny guy while the other host is the tough one.
If you like this stuff, you'll like their other stuff. Search on YOUTUBE for silent library or silent gaki.
The biker one is a show called Mecha-Iketeru. They're not really bikers, they're imitating a Japanese group who's name I can't remember right now.

And this is how you find out you're gay, by enjoying watching your own gender getting hit in the genitals. Seriously, you don't even know what Japan is really like.
